Frequently asked questions
How is the progress of Carving the Divine?
We have completed the post-production. The picture is locked and ready to go. We are in the process of submitting the film to world-class film festivals. As much as we would like to present the film to the world, at this point we are not allowed to show it to the public.
So now what? Should we just wait?
The short answer is Yes! But meanwhile, I have started a weekly YouTube show called Carving the Divine TV. The show is designed to teach Buddhism and the history of Buddhism to people who have never been exposed to this Eastern wisdom tradition (and to people who already have some knowledge but want to expand their understanding of Buddhism): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe7yeRuaUeOyzKPBEbsDNuw
The idea is that if you watch each episode diligently (usually about 5 to 10 minutes or a little more), eventually you will be knowledgeable enough to tackle deeper aspects of the subject. As a UC Berkeley graduate, I understand starting out any scholarly subject is very difficult because you are thrown into the deep ocean of jargon and technical terms but, once you get momentum, you will start enjoying learning. So, this general survey course will provide fun and excitement in this initial painful phase. Though it is not required to watch the show to understand the documentary, even if you have a general understanding of Buddhist culture you will appreciate and enjoy the documentary more. So, while you are waiting please enjoy the show and expand your horizons!
